Des \u00e9tudes r\u00e9centes ont ainsi d\u00e9montr\u00e9 qu\u2019une utilisation accrue des m\u00e9dias num\u00e9riques chez les enfants et adolescents va de pair avec une diminution de l\u2019activit\u00e9 physique (p. ex. Kaiser-Jovy et al., 2017\u00a0; Spengler et al., 2016). Parall\u00e8lement, d\u2019un point de vue m\u00e9dical, pratiquer un minimum d\u2019exercice physique est pourtant indispensable au maintien d\u2019une bonne sant\u00e9\u00a0; l\u2019Organisation mondiale de la Sant\u00e9 (OMS) pr\u00e9conise d\u2019ailleurs une heure d\u2019effort physique mod\u00e9r\u00e9 ou vigoureux par jour (WHO, 2010). Dissiper et, au mieux, renverser cette opposition (apparente) entre un environnement num\u00e9rique et une activit\u00e9 physique suffisante constituera sans doute \u00e0 l\u2019avenir une mission \u00e9ducative cruciale pour les \u00e9coles dans leur ensemble et pour le cours d\u2019\u00e9ducation physique en particulier.<\/p>\n<p>Une approche possible \u00e0 cet \u00e9gard r\u00e9side dans l\u2019utilisation de <em>trackers<\/em> de forme physique ou d\u2019activit\u00e9. Il s\u2019agit de petits appareils portables se pr\u00e9sentant souvent sous la forme de bracelets ou de montres, qui enregistrent l\u2019activit\u00e9 physique d\u2019une personne \u00e0 l\u2019aide d\u2019acc\u00e9l\u00e9rom\u00e8tres et\/ou de GPS et qui transmettent ces donn\u00e9es \u00e0 des plateformes en ligne. Les donn\u00e9es peuvent y \u00eatre consult\u00e9es, \u00e9dit\u00e9es et partag\u00e9es via les r\u00e9seaux sociaux. Des \u00e9tudes relatives \u00e0 l\u2019utilisation de ces <em>trackers<\/em> d\u2019activit\u00e9 dans le contexte scolaire montrent que ceux-ci peuvent pr\u00e9senter un double avantage\u00a0: ils permettent une <em>saisie objective<\/em> de l\u2019activit\u00e9 physique et peuvent en outre repr\u00e9senter une <em>source de motivation<\/em>, en particulier lorsqu\u2019ils fournissent un <em>feedback<\/em> personnalis\u00e9 et sont li\u00e9s \u00e0 des plateformes sociales (p. ex. Casey et al., 2016\u00a0; Van Hilvoorde &amp; Koekoek, 2018).
